The dependence of pitch of pure tones on intensity is re-examined by monotic and dichotic experiments with 15 subjects. The results of both types of experiment are consistent with Stevens's earlier data, saying that with increasing intensity low tones get lower, high tones sharper. In the frequency region of 1000 to 2000 Hz the effect was found to be negligible.
